As the title suggests, the show includes a number of poems/songs that involve animals. Burns often used animal dialogue to illustrate his situation or to make comment on social issues. This, of course, allows IDEOMS to present the poems in a quirky and entertaining way. The play has a rural setting incorporating the farmyard, the surrounding fields, the church and the pub, and is loosely a day in the life of Burnsian characters and, of course, a variety of beasts
